Who are We
O Instituto Nacional de Artes do Circo é a primeira estrutura de formação circense no norte de Portugal, que visa estimular a formação de jovens artistas de circo contemporâneo de alto nível técnico e artístico. Pois é sabido que para além do risco, da poesia e do humor, é na excelência técnica e no virtuosismo que se apoiam as várias formas de circo atual. Aos artistas, de ontem e de hoje, é sempre exigido um treino quotidiano e intensivo.
O INAC tem como primeira missão formar artistas, capazes de uma abordagem pluridisciplinar que assegure o surgimento e a afirmação das novas estéticas. As várias disciplinas específicas do circo o malabarismo, clown, equilibrismo, aéreos e acrobacia, e a sua inter-relação com outras formas artísticas, nomeadamente o teatro e a dança constituem o alicerce pedagógico da proposta formativa.
O INAC pretende ainda preencher uma lacuna profunda ao nível da formação em Portugal, na convicção de que no futuro, bons artistas permitirão criar espetáculos de grande qualidade técnica e artística. O projeto do INAC consagra assim a criação de um núcleo de formação circense, que no desenvolvimento da sua missão valoriza o carácter global e único desta área artística.
O Instituto Nacional de Artes do Circo tem por objetivos:
-Profissionalizar artistas de circo contribuindo para a criação de um novo perfil profissional em Portugal;
-Promover a integração profissional dos alunos em estruturas formais com competências para o exercício deste tipo de atividade;
-Dar resposta a uma procura existente deste tipo de manifestações artísticas em Portugal por parte dos programadores culturais;
The National Institute of Circus Arts is the first structure of circus training in the north of Portugal, which aims to stimulate the training of young contemporary circus artists with high technical and artistic level. For it is well known that in addition to risk, poetry and humor, it is technical excellence and virtuosity that support the various forms of the current circus. Artists of yesterday and today are always required a daily and intensive training.
The first mission of INAC is to train artists, capable of a multidisciplinary approach that assures the emergence and affirmation of new aesthetics. The various circus-specific disciplines such as juggling, clowning, balancing, aerial and acrobatic, and their interrelationship with other artistic forms, namely theater and dance, are the pedagogical foundation of the program proposal.
The INAC also intends to fill a deep gap in the training in Portugal, believing that in the future, good artists will be able of creating shows with great technical and artistic quality. The INAC project thus consecrates the creation of a core of circus training, which in the development of its mission values the global and unique character of this artistic area.
The National Institute of Arts of the Circus has the following objectives:
-Professionalize circus artists contributing to the creation of a new professional profile in Portugal;
-To promote the professional integration of the students in formal structures with competences for the exercise of this type of activity;
-To respond to an existing demand of this type of artistic manifestations in Portugal by the cultural programmers;
